Margaret Cobb recently retired from Microsoft Corporation and established The Cobb Foundation, Northwest, a self-funded foundation dedicated to helping low-income students. As president of the Foundation, her mission is to provide students with access to educational opportunities not provided by public schools through funding music lessons, book clubs, athletic lessons and robotic workshops. Rebecca graduated from Tech in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Upon leaving Tech she worked at Kaman Aerospace in Broomfield, CT for two years. She then took a position with Sikorsky Aircraft and remained with Sikorsky as a consultant while starting Ufkes Engineering after a move to South Carolina in 1990. John Cook earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1942. Following graduation, he served as a lieutenant in the Navy. He then went to work for Wright Aeronautical Corporation as a Production Engineer, and Checker Motors and Fisher Body Division, GMC, in the Automotive Body Engineering areas. Tom McKie began his mechanical engineering education in 1941, enlisted in the Navy Air Corps in World War II, and returned to Michigan Tech after completing his military service in 1945 to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
