Ray Kauppila earned bachelor degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1951. He then came to Tech as a teacher in 1957 and received a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1960. Maurice "Morry" M. Taylor (BSME ’68) was first employed by General Motors as a mechanical engineer in Saginaw. A few years later he joined Morweld Steel Products and, in 1972, became part owner of the American Steel Impact Corp. in Detroit.
