Fred Spagnoletti graduated from Michigan Tech in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before graduation he accepted a position with Rocketdyne, with whom he had interviewed while at Tech. His first assignment was at their test site in the Santa Susana mountains northwest of Los Angeles on the turbo pump for the F-1 rocket engine. This was the engine on the Apollo program Saturn V main booster . . .

Why did you choose Michigan Tech? MTU was the right blend of educational challenge, "adventurous distance" from home, and outdoor recreation options. And when my college acceptance letter arrived hand-signed by the Director of Admissions (unlike the photocopied letters from other schools), I knew Michigan Tech would provide the personal approach I'd appreciate. Jennifer graduated from Michigan Tech in 1996 with her bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. She later went on to earn her master's in mechanical engineering in 1998 from Oakland University. She is currently the Senior Manager: Safety Recall Administration amp; Execution at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) where she is responsible for the execution of safety and quality customer campaigns from recall to repair . . .

Nancy Cragel

Nancy Cragel '86

Nancy graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She also attended the Ford College Graduate Program. After this, she worked as a Product Design Engineer for over three years and was responsible for design and development of an all-new power tilt, power-telescoping column at Ford Motor Company.
