'83Joan graduated from Michigan Tech in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. She subsequently earned her master's degree in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1984. Post Michigan Tech she was hired as an engineer with the Advance Development Department of Hughes Aircraft in Los Angeles and was given a Top Secret clearance. Charles Laurila
'59Chuck Laurila earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1959 and began his career as a field engineer with Boeing Company's Aerospace Division. He spent seven years with Boeing, becoming a senior engineer working on the Minuteman missiles at Air Force bases in the Western states. Chuck then worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company and was responsible for the maintenance program in the crushing . . .
