Susan received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Tech in 1981. After graduation she accepted a position with General Motors Corporation. In 1982, Susan left GM and went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. She stayed with TI from 1982 to 1988 and during this time worked as Deputy Program Manager, Lead Mechanical Engineer, and Mechanical Design Engineer for various Fire Control . . .

In 1978 Elzbieta graduated from Technical University of Wroclaw, Poland with a master's degree in Civil Engineering. While at Michigan Tech, she earned two degrees. A master's in Civil Engineering in 1981 and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering amp; Engineering Mechanics in 1985. Tom McKie began his mechanical engineering education in 1941, enlisted in the Navy Air Corps in World War II, and returned to Michigan Tech after completing his military service in 1945 to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
