Fred Spagnoletti

Fred Spagnoletti graduated from Michigan Tech in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before graduation he accepted a position with Rocketdyne, with whom he had interviewed while at Tech. His first assignment was at their test site in the Santa Susana mountains northwest of Los Angeles on the turbo pump for the F-1 rocket engine. This was the engine on the Apollo program Saturn V main booster . . .

Tom B. Moore earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1966. After graduation he went to work for Standard Oil of CA, now Chevron, as a plant engineer in Richmond, CA. For two years he worked on major plant expansions. Then he and a fraternity brother took off a year and traveled 21 countries. He returned to Denver to work for Behrent Engineering for one year and then he then went to work for . . .

'89

Nancy Vandermey is a rocket scientist, volunteer zookeeper and amateur photographer. She graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Tech and holds a master's degree in engineering mechanics from Virginia Tech. Vandermey joined the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, in 1996 and is presently Science Planning Systems Engineer for the Cassini spacecraft orbiting . . .

Kathleen Grisdela '84

Kathy received her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Tech in 1984. After graduation she went to work for General Motors Corporation as a Reliability Engineer at the Detroit Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Four years after leaving GM and accepting a Quality Engineer position with Kelsey-Hayes- a Tier 1 supplier of anti lock braking systems. During her years with Kelsey-Hayes she was promoted . . .
