Jennifer graduated from Michigan Tech in 1996 with her bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. She later went on to earn her master's in mechanical engineering in 1998 from Oakland University. For Michigan Tech mechanical engineering graduate Greg Ives '03, the 2018 season marks his fourth year as crew chief for the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports team. Chuck Laurila earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1959 and began his career as a field engineer with Boeing Company's Aerospace Division. He spent seven years with Boeing, becoming a senior engineer working on the Minuteman missiles at Air Force bases in the Western states.
