Tom Moore
'66Tom B. Moore earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1966. After graduation he went to work for Standard Oil of CA, now Chevron, as a plant engineer in Richmond, CA. For two years he worked on major plant expansions. Then he and a fraternity brother took off a year and traveled 21 countries. He returned to Denver to work for Behrent Engineering for one year and then he then went to work for . . .

'08Beau Anderson wants to engineer a planet with more heart. The earnest alumnus says, "Humanity is something I would love to bring to the whole world; make sure every single person has water to drink, every person has shelter, food, health, and people around them caring for them. I don't want to make the world a huge monoculture. Differences are awesome. But every culture should provide humans with all their physical needs." . . .

'85Why did you choose Michigan Tech? Growing up in Metro Detroit, the Keweenaw environment (including the snowfall) was a huge draw. My father, who had graduated from U of M, spoke highly of the engineering program at the university and even his own desire to attend there but could not due to the distance and travel constraints for him and his family. It simply felt like the right place to go and I am thankful I did . . .

Donald Wheatley '62, '63
Donald G. Wheatley went to work for General Motors in 1963. He worked on the guidance systems doing vibration and fatigue analysis for the Apollo project. Out of the sixty new hires on the project, he was the only one remaining at the end. He also did some work on the main battle tank. Don then accepted an offer from Ford, where he worked on a small team to define the new Ford Maverick. He later led the team that designed . . .
