Director—Advanced Energy Systems and Microfluidics Laboratory
Current Students
Aneet D N
Aneet is from Bangalore, India. He is a PhD candidate at Michigan Tech. He has a bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering and was a Programmer / Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions before joining MTU for a Doctoral degree in 2006. He is currently carrying out Molecular Dynamics Simulation of systems composed of non-reacting molecules.
Zach is a PhD student from Gaylord, Michigan. He finished his undergraduate degree at Michigan Tech in the spring of 2008 in the field of Mechanical Engineering with an international minor in Spanish. He is currently studying the flow-boiling characteristics of water inside micro-heat exchangers. Soon he will be using the Micro-Particle Image Velocimetry (micro-PIV) technique to study velocity profiles in microchannels and will be experimenting with new geometries to improve vapor bubble evacuation.
Iltesham is from Maharashtra, India and is called as ‘Syed’ by pals. He is a masters student in Mechanical Engineering prior to which, he was a lecturer in Hi-Tech polytechnic, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, before joining MTU in SPRING 2008. His concentration is mainly on Energy thermo fluids and is currently working on experimental evaluation of convective heat transfer coefficient of water through micro ducts in machining tools.
Anthony is from Duluth, MN and goes by the name Tony. He has an associate’s degree in engineering from Itasca Community college, Grand Rapids, MN. He is working on his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at MTU. was originally hired for the nano channel experiment, but started working on the simulation ultra-hydrophobic horizontal proton exchange membrane.
