Water molecule.

Advanced Energy Systems and Microfluidics Laboratory

Water: The marvelous molecule.

About Us

Our research is dedicated to numerical and experimental analysis of a liquid-vapor interface with or without interfacial heat and mass transfer.  The current research areas include the following:

Microfluidics

Experimental and numerical work is being carried out to determine the effect of vapor bubble growth on pressure drop and wall heat transfer mechanisms during flow boiling inside micro channels.

Fuel Cells

Research is being conducted to study the interaction of air and water droplets inside the channels on bi-polar plates of a Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell.

Boiling

The objective is to develop a multiscale numerical model of the contact region of a moving liquid-vapor interface on a heated wall using Molecular Dynamic Simulation.
