The Advanced Energy Systems and Microfluidics Laboratory was created in 2006 to study and improve the performance of advanced energy systems such as fuel cells and investigate micro-scale thermal management technology. It is run by Dr. Abhijit Mukherjee and currently has three graduate students performing Masters and Ph.D. Research there. Projects include the study of high Reynolds Number convective heat transfer in a microchannel, flow boiling in microchannels, molecular dynamics simulations, and water management issues in PEM fuel cells.
