Multiscale Transport Process Laboratory

Department of Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics
Michigan Technological University

About Us
Multiscale Transport Process Laboratory (MTPL), led by Assistant Professor Kazuya Tajiri, investigates the multiphase, multiscale transport phenomena in the thermo-fluid systems.

At present, our primary target of study is polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) for automotive application.
Our expertise includes

    * ex-situ and in-situ measurement of mass and species transport properties
    * characterization of chemical / electrochemical reactions and phase change
    * PEFC in-situ diagnostics
    * cell- / stack-level modeling and computation
    * PEFC system modeling and analysis
