Contributing to the Cliffs Shaft

The Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum is in operation today thanks, in part, to a group of dedicated volunteers who are willing to donate their time and talents for this worthy cause.

There are several ways you can contribute. Perhaps you have some mining artifacts that were used by you or a family member in one of our local mines. We have a collection of hard hats, lunch pails, tools and other miscellaneous items, but can always use more. Pictures, whether of a group of miners or just a few, are always welcome; a listing of their names makes it even better.

Do you have time and/or a special talent that could be used at the Cliffs Shaft? Maybe you would like to work in the Gift Shop, or just act as a guide and share with visitors your knowledge of the history, the various buildings, mining machinery and tools which are on the grounds. Perhaps you can use a computer, or would like to transcribe old employee records. There is always a need, of course, for people who can do repairs, carpenter work, and general upkeep.

If you have no mining artifacts, and no spare time to give, monetary contributions are always gratefully accepted. Annual memberships are also available. Come and visit us, and see if you'd like to be a part of the Cliffs Shaft family.
