Petroleum Research Fund from American Chemical Society to study "Demulsification by Nano-Structured Surfaces"; and

Research Excellent Fund from Michigan Tech to work on "Innovative Micro Fuel Cell Architectures”

Our undergraduate student Ryan Lemmens has been awarded Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURFs) to conduct research in MuSES lab during Summer 2008. Graduate school rankings released by the 2009 U.S. News & World Report: America's Best Graduate rate four of Michigan Technological University's graduate engineering programs among the top 50 nationwide:

* Mechanical Engineering, No. 48.

* Civil engineering, No. 43.

* Materials science and engineering, No. 41.

* Environmental engineering, No. 26

The ME Undergraduate Program of MTU is ranked 22nd nationally among doctoral-granting Mechanical Engineering Departments in the U.S. by the 2008 U.S. News & World Report: America's Best Colleges
