Research Interests

Micromechanical machining processes and microsystem design, nanosensing

Micromechanical machining processes are direct material removal processes with microcutting tools. They include milling, drilling, diamond machining, hot embossing, etc., to produce component features in the micrometer regime.  These processes are well suited for rapid prototyping at the microscale, for developing higher-order-geometry (HOG) packages, substrates, and molds for microcomponents, and for precision fixtures and shadow masks for material deposition processes.
