Collegiate Alpine Ski Racing has the following rules:

Teams consist of 5 racers per sex. Race meets consist of a slalom race (tight quick turns) and a giant slalom race (larger faster turns). Each race consists of two runs. The two times of each individual are then added to give a race total. The top three times of each team are then added to give the team total and that time determines the teams place.

In the slalom the men were very close to the lead after the first one but St. Olaf put together some good second runs to pull ahead. The huskies did finish with 4 skiers in the top ten.
