Hi, I'm Brian Sikkema, and I'm a 4th year Mechanical Engineering major here at Michigan Tech. Theoretically I advise this ragtag group of first years, but a more accurate description would be that I'm living vicariously through them. So far they seem to have taken much better advantage of their freshman year than I ever did!

I'm originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I made my decision to come to Michigan Tech before ever laying eyes on campus. However, I have never regretted my decision, I've loved every minute of my time here! Yes, even the innevitable snowstorms.

In the freetime that I do manage to beg, borrow or steal from classes, Air Force ROTC or one of my several jobs, I like to do a number of different things. As with many Tech students, I'm a computer nerd, but I'm also into photography, I play bass guitar, and I work on my truck. I also have a pilots liscense, but I don't really get the opportunity to fly during the school year - that's just a summer hobby.

I might show up in a few of the pictures, but it's really all about the freshmen, so I won't have any of my own. I hope you enjoy everything they've put together!
