SAE Evening Presentation Series

Engineering Trucks in the New Millennia

Terry J. Woychowski (BSME '78) was named chief engineer of General Motor's full-size trucks in 1998. His responsibilities include all the engineering design, development and integration activities for full-size light-duty and heavy-duty pickups marketed under the Chevrolet and GMC brands and full-size sport utility vehicles marketed under the Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer brands.

The Michigan Tech chapter of the Society of Automative Engineers sponsored the seminar at ME-EM 112 on Wednesday February 12, 2003. Even though the Winter Carnival break was on, a large crowd of students and academe attended. Another Michigan Tech alumnus, Robert J. Freimuth ('77 BSBA), Manager of Organizational Effectiveness at GM and University Relations Team Coordinator for GM at MTU introduced Terry Woychowski at the seminar. Dr. Bill Predebon also conducted a tour of some of the new mechanical engineering labs as shown below.
