Jack Thompson at Michigan Tech
Dr. Bill Predebon gave a tour
of the ME-EM to SAE International president Dr and Mrs. Jack Thompson
and Bob Sechler, Manager, Educational Relations at SAE. They were here
to attend the 2003 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge Contest that was held
at Michigan Tech's Keweenaw Research Center.

The SAE Clean

Thompson earned a B.S.M.E.
with Distinction from the University of New Mexico. Dr.Thompson holds
an M.S. from Stanford University and a Doctor of Engineering from the
University of Detroit. His 37-year involvement in SAE has been in a variety
of positions with significant leadership responsibility which include
being a member of the SAE Board of Directors from 1996-1998.
He is currently a member of
the SAE Foundation Board of Trustees. As an active member of SAE since
joining in 1965 his activities include being a member of the Quality Improvement
Committee, serving as chair in 1997; a member of the Strategic Planning
Committee in 1999, chair of the Motor Vehicle Council from 1993-1995;
and chair of the Auto Body Activity in 1977 which ended his term on this
committee from which he was a member since 1972.
Dr. Thompson was also a member
of the IBEC Board of Director and chair in 1999, and had involvement in
the Mobility Technology Planning Forums (MTPF) I and II.
