Why did you choose Michigan Tech? My parents are both from the east end of the UP and I spent a lot of time visiting "the yoop" . During my childhood. I knew I wanted to be an engineer since a young age, and after visiting Tech during a summer family camping trip in 7th grade I knew where I was supposed to be. Bob Thresher earned a B.S. Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1962. He returned to Michigan Tech after working for the Boeing Company to receive a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1967, followed by a Ph.D. from Colorado State University in 1970. After completing his doctorate, he worked as a Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington D.C. He then spent four years as an assistant professor . . .

Hussein M. Zbib earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1981, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1983 and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics in 1987 all from Michigan Tech. In 1988 he was hired as an Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Washington State University. He was promoted to Professor in 1998. Fred Sherriff earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1963. After graduation he began a 33 year career in the food business as a Project Engineer with General Foods Corporation at Post Cereals in Battle Creek.
