Hydroforming Research
Doctoral candidates Mehdi Imaninejad and Adam Loukus are doing research on the hydroforming process.
The ME-EM department is one of the largest in the nation and is the largest in the College of Engineering at Michigan Tech. It has more than forty full-time faculty members and 180 graduate students, with 84 students in the doctoral program.

In addition, the department faculty also participate in the Master of Engineering and the nondepartmental PhD in Engineering programs.

The department is structured along four areas of teaching and research (design/dynamic systems, energy-thermofluids, manufacturing/industrial, and solid mechanics) with heavy emphasis placed on graduate student participation in laboratory investigations, industrial projects, and interdisciplinary studies.
