Non-tenure-track lecturer position: Michigan Technological University, Department of Mechanical Engineering-Engineering Mechanics “MEEM” invites applications for a lecturer position.  Applications in all fields of mechanical engineering will be considered but the Department is particularly interested in a combined background in design, dynamic systems, and CAE.  The anticipated starting date is August of 2008. 

Basic functions and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, mentoring students in career matters, serving on committees, conducting outreach activities periodically, and assisting with department assessment.

Required qualifications are a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or closely related field or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, demonstrated excellent teaching ability, and demonstrated organizational skills.  It is also desired that the candidate have engineering design experience.
