Joseph A. Gemignani

Joseph A. Gemignani Joe Gemignani earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MTU in 1953. After graduation he served two years in the United States Air Force. He then continued his education at the University of Michigan Law School where he received his J.D. Law in 1958. He began his career in patent law with McGraw Edison Company in Milwaukee. In 1961 he joined Michael Best & Friedrich, one of the oldest and largest business law firms in the Midwest, and was made a partner in 1967. His professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Bar Association, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Foreign Business Advisory Council, the State Bar of Michigan, the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society, and the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers. He was named to "Best Lawyers in America," Intellectual Property Attorneys in 1991-92 and is listed in Marquis "Who's Who." His contributions to MTU over the years include the Alumni Association Board of Directors, member of the Presidents Club, a Michigan Tech Fund Life Trustee, a member of the Century II Campaign Task Force, and was MTU's principal intellectual property and licensing counsel for years.
