ME SAC Chair
Representing the MTU Aerospace Enterprise
ME Major, 3rd Year
The Aerospace Enterprise is currently working on 4 projects: Glider, CanSat, C9 Reduced Gravity Experiment, and the University Nanosatellite Project. I represent all of these groups, but am the project manager of the latter. We are designing a miniature scale spy satellite in a competition sponsored by the Air Force Research Lab. Although I bring forth issues to the ME SAC group from the enterprise, I am willing to address issues from the ME group at large. The ME SAC Committee is a good way for the ME administration to get feedback from the students (positive and negative). This group is a great medium for bringing about changes (minor and major) in the department. |

Pi Tau Sigma Representative
Pi Tau Sigma is the International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society.
Pi Tau Sigma is the International Mechanical Engineering Society. Our chapter is in the process of implementing a student run, Undergraduate ME advising service. As upperclassmen, we want to pass on our experiences to the incoming Mechanical Engineering Students by providing them with fellow student's answers to their questions. As a SAC member, I am excited to give the ME Department feedback, both from my experiences as well as the experiences of my peers.

MEEM 912
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a society of interaction
and education. We have numerous opportunities to socialize as well as a
network for advice on classes and projects. We are currently working on a
Rube Goldberg project that will be competing in various competitions.
This is a project that is done every year along with the ASME Student
Design Competition (SDC). This year however the SDC is currently a senior
design project, but in the future ASME will sponsor a SDC team. If you
have any questions about this society or any issues with the ME department
feel free to contact me. |

4th Year Chair of Records Challenge X
As a member of Challenge X I've worked on our emissions system, represented our team in competition and at expos, and I am currently working on our vehicle model and controls. Challenge X is a multi-disciplined, technologically in-depth, student-run team that deals with current and future hybrid vehicle issues. I am really interested in helping generate feedback from ME-EM students to the Department. I would like to know what ME-EM students can bring to the Department from their past experiences and co-ops/internships. |
